On the final stretch; already crashed through the tape!

Dear friends, thanks to you all, either with your hard-earned cash or your kind, thoughtful encouragement, I’ve well and truly passed my target!
This money – now standing at about £200, with more to come, will enable Music in Hospitals and Care to increase their reach into enhancing the lives of folk who find themselves away from home in situations of anxiety and loss.
I know what a blessing even my humble attempts at bringing joy and entertainment can bring to folks in residential care settings. I am privileged to be invited into five such homes supporting a total of at least sixty folks: some younger than me! Long may that continue!

Other news: the boiler still remains “missing in action” the etc: new one isn’t to be installed until 13th October. So we boil pans, kettles and the like. Thanks to our friend Vanessa we have a large electric boiler to enable a “hot bath”. Not for a long soak – but at least the body can get dunked and cleaned. I know we will survive. Friends have offered their bathrooms for us to shower – grateful.

The car is back with us following several weeks of anxious separation. The story is too long and full of frustration to retell it: it’s just too soon! But thanks the Integrity motors for bringing some righteous diligence.

I have a date for my prostate procedure and look forward with some trepidation to feel the benefits. I’ve had this catheter for over twelve months and frankly will be glad to see the back of it. But I’m mindful of the phrase “Be careful what you wish for”! I’ve had a few pipe-separation incidents recently; which have knocked my confidence of going out amongst folk. Mr Sparkler wishes not to disgrace himself in front of folk. Oh doesn’t he do that by trying to sing and play the guitar? My attitude is to leave it in God’s (and the surgeon’s) hands.

I’ll spare you the boring self-loathing regards my legs and mouth/pharynx matters. Bith are going through the “imaging” procedures at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. Both wait outcomes of diagnosis – but I won’t risk treatment (unless critical) until this Urology business is progressed along a bit

Music has been my friend again – some progress made on a few tracks – I’ll assault you with some demos in the next update.

Well it’s Tarra from me and Toodle-pip from me. I’ll (God willing) in a few days time with the final update. I have done more than 75 miles!

Your buddy, Mr Sparkler and his scribe Roger – bye!

  1. Well it does make interesting reading some things to be cheerful about and others that bring both a smile and tear at the same time.
