I’m into my third week – and I haven’t properly posted

My word – how can I say I’m a Blogger when I haven’t posted or shared? What a lightweight! Although a good friend is constantly admonishing and reminding me that I’m OK and a contributor of some talent. This world of ours is a better place with me in it. I’m sure Putin or Idi Amin had friends who said the same!

Well, first things first, I’m through that previous bout of ill health, infections, sores and debilitating anxiety. That seemed to run from mid-May with maybe a few oases of good health. Any way, I’m counting my blessings and am going to make the most of this well-being. Creativity has returned and I can get on my my project of completing an album of originals and a few covers of old hymns brought up to date. Hopefully it’ll be done by the end of the year! Please don’t hold your breath, I don’t want that on my conscience.

You’re all champing at the bit to know how the 75 mile cycling challenge is going in support of Music in Hospitals and Care. I’ve exceeded the target suggested of £75 (It’s their 75th year) and also topped my own target of £100. There’s still some cash to collect from various folks. So don’t let my modest success deter you from adding a little more! Next month – SoberTober. Not sure who will benefit from any funds raised – probably me by my self-imposed temperance! I think it likely that I’ll just dib in what I’d spend on grog – ha ha that’ll raise an absolute fortune.

I’ve been pleased to do a few sessions in the Homes over the weeks and have been grateful to receive some donations – thank you.

We have the car back; intact from her adventures in the body shop and MOT Centre. We had to spend out to get her serviced and the body repairs by our friend Peter Houseman of Integrity Motor Services (mobile workshop) phone 07737021289 – he’s based in Luton and his business name says it all.

Please share, comment, ignore, block or whatever you like (donate via the JustGiving link on the Front Page. Next post will contain a couple of rough-mixed tracks to illustrate my song-making progress. And also some music I made in 2003 – from an album I titled “The Phoenix Shimmers”. That’s a laugh!

Go well in peace and harmony: what’s so funny about peace, love and understanding?

  1. Well so nice to see that your feeling better and that your fundraising has been positive. Thinking of you both as we get to Autumn and the later part of the year we wish you good health and hope that your positive focus will bring just rewarded.
We had a great evening with the Stone Branch and it was a pleasure and surprises to See Mike. Anna. & Indi
We had a great catch up….Well that’s the end of my little Blog….
Love to you and All your Family xxx

    1. Thanks Pete and Den, really appreciate your kindness. Anna said she enjoyed meeting folks – it was a shame we couldn’t get there. Latest challenge is the boiler has gone kaput – it’s pretty old – so we are going to replace – but that means a few weeks without hot water. Ah life! With love, R
